A little about the general area for camping and vacation is as follows:
Located at Galloway, in the Parish of Richibucto, in the County of Kent and Province of New Brunswick.
SIZE: 35+/- acres = 14+/- hectares
- Approximately 515 meters of road front along West Galloway Road (1,689 feet) - Located in West Branch (southwest of Rexton and Richibucto), in the Province of New Brunswick Canada. - An excellent parcel for recreation, forestry, hunting, residence and vacations. - The land has a rural country setting among neighboring woodland. - The land is roughly 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) to the nearest residence and electricity. - Just 3.3 kilometers (2.1 miles) to the St. Nicholas River and Richibucto River with boat launch and access. - 10 minutes from the full service communities of Rexton and Richibucto - schools, health care, banking, building supplies, gas, groceries…. - Easy reach of the coastline, Northumberland Strait (Gulf of St. Lawrence) - great beaches and warm water the whole family will enjoy! - A one hour to the city of Moncton and their international airport. - A one hour drive to the city of Miramichi and world class salmon fishing on Miramichi River.
This acreage sits on the southeasterly side of West Galloway Road with approximately 515 meters (1,689 feet) of gravel road frontage. The land is about 1 kilometer south of the paved portion of West Galloway Road, where the nearest residence is situated, and is 1.8 kilometers east of the paved Highway 495. The acreage is accessible year-round via West Galloway Road and a great network of maintained highways and roads to the neighboring towns and cities.
Topography of the land is more or less level to gradually sloping from north to south with an elevation of roughly 35 meters (115 feet) above above sea level. You’ll find some moose pasture (wetlands) within the acreage as is seen on the air photo, though there is plenty of good high ground on the property that is well draining. The land was last harvested for timbers in the late 1990s and has grown back nicely in Birch, Poplar deciduous trees, and Fir and Spruce Evergreen Trees. The forest and wetland areas supports a diverse natural habitat of wildlife and birds - from Moose, White Tailed Deer, Rabbits, and Grouse.
Within very easy reach are access points and boat launch sites to the St. Nicholas River and the Richibucto River - favorite boating waters for all variety of boats including pontoon boats, speed boats, fishing boats and sailboats. Canoeing, Kayaking, paddle boarding are also great activities along these waters. You can boat inland all the way up to Bass River, or venture out to the coastline of the Northumberland Strait via Rexton and Richibucto. The Northumberland Strait is home to the warmest ocean water temperatures in Canada, with some areas reaching 77 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 degrees Celcius.
ATV and snowmobile recreation trails are easily accessed from your land and are connected to a huge network of marked and maintained trails. This really is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast and for those who enjoy outdoor recreation and motorsports.
The communities of Rexton and Richibucto are a 15 minutes drive. Here you will find amenities, groceries, health care, banking, groceries and entertainment. Just over an hour drive is the vibrant city of Moncton for all your shopping needs. Moncton is the province of New Brunswick’s largest city and urban centre and has an international airport with connecting flights from Canada’s largest cities. Flights from the UK and Europe are readily available and connect via Montreal and Toronto.
Highway 11 North via Rexton and Richibucto will take you to Miramichi and the Miramichi River in about 40 minutes or 65 kilometers. The Miramichi River is known for world class salmon fishing. The Kouchibuguac National Park is 30 minutes.
